India batter Virat Kohli is arguably the best batter of the current generation. The amount of success that he has got is something that most of the players can only imagine. Ever since he made his debut for the national team, he has grown by leaps and bounds and is now the leading batter in all three formats of the game. He now has taken world cricket by storm and there’s no one better than him in all three formats.

Virat Kohli made his debut for India in 2008 and since then it has been history. The kind of impact that he has made is irreplaceable and it has seen him being compared to the great Sachin Tendulkar. The reason behind that is that Kohli has shattered many records of the batting great. However, this didn’t happen overnight as the right-hander put in a lot of effort and hard work and is now eating fruits of the same with truckloads of success under his belt.

Virat Kohli in his career has tasted a huge amount of success. The batter has broken many records and is still doing that along the way. The kind of consistency and standards that he has set for himself has been unmatchable and this is depicted by his average around 50 in all three formats.

One of the major records that Virat Kohli has broken is Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 ODI tons. The right-hander became the first batter in the history of the game to score 50 tons in the history of ODI cricket and he achieved the feat during the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2023 against New Zealand.

Kohli has been a run machine in the ODI cricket. The way he has slammed hundreds after hundreds in the 50-over format has been the testimony of his hard work over the years. It all started in 2009 when he slammed his maiden ton in the format against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After that, he didn’t look back as he kept on raising the bars high. Kohli slammed three tons in 2010 against Bangladesh, Australia and New Zealand respectively. It was enough for fans to know that the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands as not only did he score runs but also thrived under pressure situations.

Kohli’s prime came in 2017-2019, during which he went on to slam 17 centuries. The batter then experienced a downfall in his career after August 2019. He struggled to score a ton for three years in the ODIs as this next century came in December 2022.

However, after that Virat Kohli made a strong comeback and in 2023, he was back to his best. The King of Cricket scored 6 centuries last year and also completed 50 tons in the format. With the way he’s going, it’s fair to say that the number will get increased.
